Montreal, January 8, 2019 \u2013 Spiegel Sohmer Inc., a leading Montreal-based law firm, is delighted to announce that four of its outstanding lawyers have been promoted to shareholder in 2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to recognize the expertise and contributions of a new generation of highly-talented lawyers by having them become shareholders of the firm. These promotions enhance the strength of our team and help us continue to assist our clients to success\u201d, noted Morris Jacobson, Managing Shareholder of the firm.<\/p>\n

The newly-promoted shareholders are:<\/p>\n

Seth B. Abbey<\/strong> is a member of the commercial law group.. Seth\u2019s practice focuses on private equity and venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, corporate finance, as well as media and technology. He also serves as general counsel for start-ups and entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

Justine Benoit<\/strong> is a member of the tax law group. Her practice focuses on Canadian private corporate tax, including corporate structuring and reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions and cross-border investments. Justine also often advises clients on estate planning.<\/p>\n

Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Delisle<\/strong> is a member of the tax litigation group. He represents taxpayers in matters with  the federal and Quebec tax authorities, from audits to appeals before the courts. His areas of practice include corporate tax, personal tax, commodity taxes, deductions at source and voluntary disclosures.<\/p>\n

Paul D\u00e9ry-Goldberg<\/strong> is a member of the civil and commercial litigation group. His multi-faceted practice includes commercial law, construction law, estate matters, insurance law and disciplinary law. Paul also advises start-ups on how to structure their businesses in order to limit the risk of litigation.<\/p>\n
