General presentation

Jean Sébastien Lebrun began his legal career in 2006 with the firm Ravinsky Ryan Lemoine, where he became a partner in 2012. He joined Spiegel Ryan as a partner following the merger of Spiegel Sohmer and Ravinsky Ryan Lemoine.

Jean Sébastien’s practice focuses on corporate and commercial law as well as tax and estate planning. He advises his clients on the taxation of their activities and ways to optimize it, proposes asset protection strategies, supports them through all stages of buying or selling a business, and plans for its transfer from one generation to the next.

His clientele consists of businesses and their owners operating in manufacturing, retail, and the service industry, and includes professionals such as lawyers, accountants, doctors, dentists, architects, and pharmacists.

Jean Sébastien is actively involved in the Geneva Group International alliance, which has helped him develop an extensive network of contacts in Canada, the United States, France, Europe, and Latin America. Access to the alliance’s resources enables him to assist his Canadian clients with their international operations and his international clients with their Canadian activities. He is frequently invited to speak at various alliance events, particularly on topics such as mergers and acquisitions, taxation, and corporate governance.

Jean Sébastien is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Association de planification fiscale et financière (Tax and Financial Planning Association).

Outside of his legal practice, Jean Sébastien is actively involved in amateur sports. He coaches a soccer team annually at the community level and also coaches soccer, cross-country, and other sports for school teams participating in RSEQ tournaments.
